day after day
drawn to text on screen
obsession almost embarrassing
should get a life
a hobby more contributing
can't help it
loving my ink
loving my peers even more
writing way too much
reading way too much
liking way too much
RL's way too much
should seek out a counselor
staring off into the world wide web
thinking of tired out rhymes
with sad eyes
looking over to see a friendly avatar
gives me a bit of a smirk
now I dont feel alone

... it's probably totally inappropriate and I was more so laughing at myself than anything else because it's so true, when you said "should seek out a counselor"... I giggled because I've thought that about myself... like, way too many times.... For me, one that specializes in DUP addiction!😂...

Lol, yeah. Definitely been doing this awhile. Poetry is pretty much my therapy. Sometimes I feel a bit silly about it, but it's what I like.

Oh this is so relevant to DUP, but also technology addiction as a whole. People always looking at the phone, or doing stuff on social media. It's easy to get wrapped up in all of it and lose sight of living life so there is a balance to keep. And DUP time passes so quickly. There is never enough time to read and comment like I want to. I certainly never expected to be posting so much ever when I joined. :) Great write!

I think a reason I like this place so much is that there is a bit of mystery to everyone. It's not like Facebook where you get too much info. You get to really connect through poetry.

That's definitely true. I am actually not a big social media person, I don't even use Facebook. There is just not enough time in the day even if I had the desire to. DUP is a hobby and a community of sorts so it's different. It is definitely interesting to connect through poetry. :)
