Onward On

The day, way to long it seemed
Home, rest as she fell into the couch
Another day done, an endless game
Tomorrow to find a strength to move forward

Early supper into bed
Eyes had found it easy to close
Sound of the morning birds as slumber fell in
The smell of fresh sea air

Underway the sails unfurled to the mid morn breeze
The soft wind of adventure across her cheek
“Turn towards the north” she cried
“Aye aye Captain” spoke the man at the wheel

To discover new lands, new faces
A life of such wonders cursed thru her veins
The shore disappeared not with a feeling of loss
A sense of wonder, a sense of adventure

The alarm had rung eyes opened to the new day
Another day, another endless game as she lay and looked at the ceiling
Well time to get started as she sat up
Feet hit the floor? the warmth of a wooden deck
Breathing in the smell of the sea breeze
The girl was now home
