pastel �

all I see are

shapes �
gigantic �
skyscrapers �
squares of polychrome �
dull-dramatic �
�
I see prowlers �

swifter-larger-feline �
Scrader's Cat People �
plays on the small telly �
in my small domain �
�
Yesterday I was asleep �
neath the Baldwin �
replaying minuets �
until a pair of eyes- �
bright blue green �
made me run for �
my puny life �
�
I am the hunted �
I steal-scamper-stalk �
and Mr. McGuire makes me �
s m i l e

when I am �
not chased by �
a world of Tomcats �
in the maze-haze-rage �
of the concrete daze �
�
B l i n k �
�
I am a celebrity chef �

It might be a dream �
but that hardly matters �
�
Freud says it's okay �
to dream and I agree �
�
as long as I have
a celebrity voice �
�
or-even-just-a-voice.
