I've always loved you
I just never had the words
But I tried my best to show you

You see we were never the right fit
Yet somehow we always made sense
I always hoped you'd see my efforts
However this was never the case

There would always
be some distance
Between us and I guess
I just got tired of chasing you

As much as I loved you
It's as though you never chose me
You picked me up many times
But it was out of duty

I saw you fall apart
And although I was there
Yet I wasn't the one you turned to

A lot has happened
And I've had to change to
So now we just hold idealistic images
Of who we used to be

A part of me misses
who we used to be
Yet the realist in me knows
Those days are gone
Thus our connection has grown faint

I hate spotlights
But for once
I just want to be seen
