Slipping through my fingers still ( A tale of lost love)

Slipping through my fingers still
( A tale of lost love)

You were there in front of me, your love was mine to take, I chose to look the other way, I made a huge mistake

Like grains of sand in a timer, I watched you fall away, how I wished I could turn back time and said yes to you that day

In a fleeting moment, my self doubt came into play, I thought you were to good for me, so I let you walk away

I saw you walk out my door, my chance were at a end, luckily I'm privileged to still.have you as my friend

But when I'm alone in bed, i think of what we might have been, I could have been your boyfriend, you would have been my Queen

But I must pay the heavy cost, sadly I am left to rue, the day I let you slip through my hands, just know I still love you
