A New Year
I make no new year resolutions
and so I disappoint no one
especially myself if I may say so
Furthermore, it leaves me with
next to no regrets
And I like it this way
Changing and growing
go hand in hand
I strive to better myself
on a daily basis and
see no need at all
to put self improvement off
until the new year begins
I'm better off this way
and so I disappoint no one

Dear FM,
Finally, a New Years resolution I can get on board with! Every word you’ve written is on the money and reasonable. Having stopped the practice of resolutions myself years ago, seeing this in print is a wonderful reminder of what a good decision it was to have ditched that process. I realized how quickly I was setting myself up to fail. Brava to you, as well as, wishing you a healthy New Year! H🌷
