I suspect that the hardiest parts of us take the lashings so the softest parts stay soft. Perhaps we may even be seen by some as an irritating weed that won't go away. But that stubborn defilement is what keeps us grounded and standing tall. I love this piece very much. It spoke to me. Thank you for sharing it.

I try all the time to avoid doubling down on my very admitted stubborn streak, now refreshingly realizing that at times it's like my own 'woobie' (I called mine that too, took it from the movie Mr Mom) and not the complete annoyance to all others and at times myself, that I perceive it to be... (although others probably disagree) .. lol...

BV what a beautiful vulnerable interpretation of the delicate soul. Your clever simile of the fragile soul being like a growing weed is the perfect characterization of how the soul is constantly searching to bloom/grow with undeniable fortitude. This can be a blessing and a curse. I resonate with the curse because I interpret that this amazing poignant poem highlights how to be strong ''alone'', and I think that is sad....... Now, how did you capture that photo of my soul standing alone in your pavers outside of your house??? LOL ..... who needs Dr. Phil when all I need is a dose Bluevelvete elixir, LMAO

Miss blue💐🌹 🌻This poem blooms... starts out small and unsuspecting... immediately growing into a beautiful short story of pain and longing... yet solitude brings a courage and grace that will always stand gorgeous and strong... no matter what the garden it grows in... or who's weeding it... you stand out with an admirable and elegant difference... I so love different... but I'm also very familiar and empathize with the solitude or isolation that so often accompanies a distinct essence... 🌻🌻🌹🌻🌻

Your ability to dig into my spills.....Eli, it's just so heartening. I am lucky to have made such a gorgeous friend who can burrow into me and my sappy sadness (yes yes...I know, self depreciation isn't flattering, yet it's my go to!) with accuracy that makes me smile. The plight of something apparently so very weak and incognito in it's immense ability to overcome.... is my wish for myself... In reality, I'm more marshmallow than dandelion. I’ve always thought it was a shame dandelions are a weed. They’re so cheerful against the backdrop of a lawn. Alas, they’re steadfast no matter how many times the attempt to eradicate them. Lonely? Maybe. I’m inclined to think after years of trying to play nice, fit in, maintain relationships, being alone has its rewards. An unfortunate revelation to me was being lonely in a crowd of friends. A very thoughtful piece. H🌷

You do hit the nail on the head with that last sentiment, too. Is it even more of a crush to your soul /psyche when you're surrounded by people and yet you're left feeling like you're standing on the surface of the moon???! I can relate to that, as well... 100% That's why, when you DO find someone that whittles their way "in" with a like feeling or supreme connection that erases or alleviates that "lonely in the crowd" feeling, it's so rare and intoxicating and a MUST to hold onto! .... A hope, that everyone gets to experience. Ty so much for reading, sharing, and the list add... your insights are truly inspiring to read.....
