Ode to morning glory

Oh morning glory, that quintessential hope,
Oh spirit of wonderful anticipation,
With fervent desire you seek to join the fray,
Where fleshy hard and soft elope,
You seek with steely determination,
How optimistically you greet yonder day.

Oh morning glory, that longing ache,
Behold such vigor, such proud poise,
I salute thee, fine soldier of discipline,
How strong, alert, yet I barely wake,
How thou trumpet forth, sans noise,
Great mark and bearing oh fine specimen.

Oh morning glory how I marvel at thee,
So brash, so bold while I half slumber dreaming,
My nebulous state you decline to share,
What reality do you engage? Whilst I drift hopelessly,
What sweet prize art thou scheming?
To what quest do you subscribe or ambitions dare?

Author's Note
Loosely inspired by the poetry of John Keats. Very loosely. Okay, I read ode on a Grecian urn once. Back in high school. Okay you got me, this has nothing to do with Keats.
