Letters from a Suicidal Valentine
I
I pawned the echoes of your words
for a few ounces of resolve
too drained am I to even buy
with this loose change
you've left behind
a decent piece of rope!
II
Your amorous fare
has cut me deep
my wounds still weep
warm scarlet tears
that trace your name across my wrists
no razor's been this sharp!
III
A distant memory floats in mind
of lovely picnics near river banks
exchanging vows of eternal bonds
a jump when flood came could've left us both
much happier, in a drowned death-pause!
IV
A curious bystander was my heart
pierced by a ricochet arrow’s shard
sprung from your soft fickle eyes
only if bullets filled my hands
that were as lethal
in my palm shaped gun!
V
You've left me poor
you've left me drunk
you've left me fantasizing
Shakespearean deaths
poised ready, my love
for this succulent tomb
once this flame has blown
down into a Hush…
