desire is a fire
that smoulders and burns
wanting what's needed
from somewhere that yearns

every day all day
and all through the night
desire is a fire
in which to take flight

flittering, fluttering
the beating of wings
propelling us onward
towards all the things

in all the places
where we want to be
desire is a fire,
a wanting to be

filled with contentment
while satisfied
enjoying the force
of an incoming tide

of wanting and wanting
just to let go,
what we desired,
released in the flow

of wanting what's needed
and too wanting more
things, as well people,
emotions that soar

desire is the fire
that we must let go
to get what we want
to know what we know
