My love for you is like a lighthouse in the distance.
I see you and I know you are there.
Protecting me and guiding me along the way.
However, I do not venture towards you.
Rather I venture off into the deep dark blue sea.
I travel on my own finding my purpose for you.
The journey is long and tedious.
Along the way, the breeze taught me to be ever-flowing with strength and might.
The heat in the air taught me to wait patiently for the rain to come.
The stars in the sky taught me that there is light in the darkness.
And the finally the time alone taught me to rely on myself.
Now as I search in hopes of reaching your lighthouse, I travel with purpose in my mind.
I turn left and right to see you shining in the distance.
And when I finally spot you, you shine brighter than ever.
Your patience for me to find you brings power to my sails
as I race towards your light with the wind on my back.
I finally anchor my boat on the shores of your beach
and smile with joy as I bring myself to you with purpose now.
