the journey to you
My love for you is like a lighthouse in the distance.
I see you and I know you are there.
Protecting me and guiding me along the way.
However, I do not venture towards you.
Rather I venture off into the deep dark blue sea.
I travel on my own finding my purpose for you.
The journey is long and tedious.
Along the way, the breeze taught me to be ever-flowing with strength and might.
The heat in the air taught me to wait patiently for the rain to come.
The stars in the sky taught me that there is light in the darkness.

Did no one ever teach you that people are not destinations?
They are like the wind, blowing east to west.
They will eventually disappear as the storms subside.
Your heart does have a destination, but it isn't locked in someone else's mind
like a treasure in a chest.
It right inside you.
Just look a little closer and you will see,
your destination is of your own imagination.

months had gone by since I last saw you
and it was as if time had blown by
you looked at me the same
with your deep blue eyes
and I knew right when I saw you

we laughed as though our lives depended on it
because they did
our relationship was being held by a string
being pulled and tugged in different directions
but now everything is clear
we are meant to be
I know this from the way you cared about me

Smiles are the most deceitful expressions of them all.
I smile when I'm happy,

Sea of Thoughts
I feel like I'm slowly drowning
in a world where hope is lost
and my mind is plunging deeper into the abyss.
My lungs are filled with water
as my mind spirals deeper and deeper.
Every bone in my body is fighting
to stay afloat
but my mind has decided to lose the battle.
I accept my fate and slowly stop resisting the current.
I am drowning.
All alone
with nothing but a sea of thoughts.
