TEARS FROM A KISS

EMOTIONAL

Growing up I was
taught by my father
to be a Stoic:
"Big boys don't cry."
Regardless of the
pain,
No tears.
No matter the
frustration,
No tears,
Even when joyous,
No tears.
Yet, I knew something
was wrong.
There were tearful times
caused by various stimuli;
Regardless of the emotion
there were to be no tears.
THEN!
Oh, then!
When I kissed her
soft lips for the first time
the emotional surge
that kiss created sent an
emotional wave of acceptance
and happiness over my being;
tears slowiy filled my eyes.
She asked, "What's wrong? Was the
kiss so terrible?"
I replied, "NO! Big boys do cry..."
