Yup. Unfortunately, F E A R prevents many from admitting their own faults; or, even attempting to improve them. You can't improve something you're in denial about.

Toxic shame is another reason people can't admit they are wrong. Some people believe admitting they are wrong about a fact means that they are wrong as a human being.

That aspect is really sad to me, Kitts; everyone is worthy of love. It's akin to those who develop a pattern of acting out negatively for attention because being positive didn't garner it. The fear and insecurity within them has clouded their true purpose in life, and prevents them from experiencing the love and happiness they deserve.
