Image for the poem lust

lust

my passion flares
as sinful inclinations win out
lusty nights are spent longing in my hollow places

your arrogance so long my flame
went cold when I felt you fade
inside myself, I still burn...

not for you but for myself
I love the hurt and thrill
of loving someone so much it can kill

talk to me, tell me your deepest fantasies
within my sacred halls, graffitied walls
say you were here
that you forever left your mark

penetrated truths
and sanctimonious lies
sacrificed on the altar of denial
you would never be mine

I sit ravenous in my sanctuary
prowling the night
for a man of my intellect
to fill the void of a consciousness denied
