Deeper Things
Each first light, misty
opportunity disperses
our sleep into routine—
unveils the art of kaizen
We strive for perfection
in the everyday mundane—
brewing a pot of tea;
clearing our sacred space
asking not that others change
to suit our needs;
but, that we walk more patiently
understanding deeper things

I can't even begin to describe how blown away I am by that mist metaphor.
Lines 3 thru 6 may not technically rhyme, yet I feel the rhyme nonetheless with all of that N consonance. And then there's the A assonance ....
Absolutely altogether STUNNING.

Absolutely breathtaking,
The calm serene floats
The first stanza sets the mood for the reader it provides warmth.
Like having a cup of tea with a woman sharing her wisdom

Dear A,
So your last stanza, are you telling me when I throw a hissy fit if I don’t get my way from someone I might not be looking at it in the best way? 😉
This will be mighty difficult but I’ll try. Love the zen this puts out fir real! H🌷

This beautifully articulates a personal mantra of mine. At its core is empathy, which I think of as a kind of faith really-- the stubborn belief that we all feel and are well intentioned, however misguided those intentions may be or become. Thank you for this. I needed it today.

Brewing a pot of tea (of course) is one of the ideal ways to strive for and monitor perfection. The third stanza resonates beautifully apt, clear and true.

Superb! The word was originally intended as a standard in business efficiency...but now also a personal attitude. In Zen practice one is told that you are perfect just as you are, but you can always improve just a little 😉. I bow to your words of wisdom A.

A, I never know quite where I stand on lots of spiritual things. I always feel like I'm a bit wishy washy. Or maybe I just like so many different aspects of lots of different thought processes that I'm just this big amalgamation of all the things. Anyway, this is so peaceful and soothing and encouraging. well done.

Daisy, trust me, it's best not to know sometimes; it leaves room to grow and discover. Whereas some are certain they know it all, thus their minds have become closed to any potential growth.
Open minds and big hearts are where it's at, my friend. You have both. ❤
Oh, and thank you. xo
