Scared of the Dark

Love me hard enough to leave a mark
As long as my heart beats that’s where you are
Somewhere in my mind you’re under cover
Always taking time for secret lovers

King of my nightmares
Creep on the stairs
Kill me with kindness
Mold me with broken hands
Take my confession
It’s a mistake of the heart
I could never love someone who’s scared of the dark

Ooooh, ooh

I was just a baby when I met you
Looking for a light to guide me home
Biased by my innocent clarity
I believed the lie you fell for moi

Calls me to worship
But the divine are so cruel
Mine is a voice in a chorus of fools
Take my confession
It’s a mistake of the heart
I could never love someone who’s scared of the dark

Oooh, ooh

How I’d love to wrap you round my finger
Wake up with your scent weaved into mine
You were just a man, no god would shiver
I was always holier than thine

With every breath you breathe you weaken
With every lie you meekly leave them
With every woman stung she beacons rise

I could never love someone who’s scared of the dark
I could never let someone see my bloody heart
