"I pretentiously took on The Second Coming in a stream of consciousness burst."
Whatever flows in the moment, nomoth!
Agriculture is cyclical, always promising of a return. But when and where fallible man enters the equation, the promise of what comes next can be tainted and muddied. You are muchly in the vein of Yeats's inspiration poem. And this offering of yours is word bliss.
This is one of my favorites of Yeats, nomoth. His final lines echo throughout the years, and imparts such a prophetic aura about the entire piece. Yours gave me chill bumps.
There is a sense of abandon, of chaos about it's imagery and the feel of it's meter to me. Visceral, violent and perhaps senseless. What rough beast, it's hour come round at last, slouches toward Bethlehem to be born? I don't think it was pretentious. It seems like you captured the feel of that write quite adroitly.
Stunning visual display, coupled with a visually stimulating and emotionally jarring poem... What's not to love ❤️ I really like the book entry aesthetic that you've used for your last couple of poems. It's very pleasing to the eye.
