The Best Things In Life

I live a blessed life
I can say this because
it is positively true
it's not because I'm special
I know that I am not
Nor is it because I've done
 anything especially extraordinary
I know that I have not

I am a child of God
and deserving of
the best things in life
I've come a long way
from the days
I felt I was addicted
to emotional pain

I found a t-shirt
at a thrift store that had
a special saying on the front
It read: Don't worry. Everything
is going to be amazing.
I bought it and I took it home
then wore it all of the time

I couldn't help but wonder
what might happen
if I did what it said to do
and then I started to believe
that it was true
That's when the blessings
began to start coming through
