the river ii
his gaze
set
firmly
on the tumult
the shimmer
the glare
occasionally poking
a ray
direct
into his eye
life
perhaps
its reflection
setting ablaze
his being
behind the eyes
every day
by the riverbank
the swell
and fall
of his chest
the bellow
for the furnace
'tween his ears
the river
where he met her
still there.
