they float to the top as cream
my innermost being vulnerable and true sings melancholy

blue emotions in watercolor
paint the landscape inside my sacred halls
quietly I listen to my inner girl sing
songs of honesty and innocence unchanged

in repose, she counts her days on earth
humbly she looks over life-shaping events
my soul is intimately connected to her
when she speaks time stops and I listen

tears shine in her eyes for the woman I am
her love for me true
from the heart she utters epiphanies
gathered along the ocean of doubt
tiny seashells, they are kept and collected
the only jewelry adorning her is wisdom
love her crown

we walk together along the shore of enlightenment
she turns and looks me in the eyes
she holds a little gold key
with a pensive look, she hands it to me

I turn the lock, open the door and she is free
from out of the shadows and into the light
