Barefoot and Full of Dreams
I want to feel the earth beneath my toes
unknowing of how life fatefully goes
I want to feel everything caress against my feet
unaware of what dangers I might meet
I want to feel every crevice, twig, rock, or stone
As I travel down life’s paths alone
I want to feel the change of textures tickle my soles
wiggling my toes out of muddy holes
I want to feel every nick, cut, bruise, bite or sting
whatever this life has to bring
I want callouses to build, testifying to the times I endured and didn’t yield
I want to forge a path for those following behind
my footprints bearing witness to the legacy of lessons I’ve left outlined
I want to live blissfully, carelessly in the moment
just chasing wisdom and daydreams
Moving through life with mindful ease
in a barefoot oblivion
