Without my muse

Without my muse

Miles away across the net, or laying on my bed, poetry knows no distance when you are in my head

I close my eye, open up my heart, you appear inside my mind, beautiful and caring, without my muse I'm blind

Words hold no meaning, just shapes thrown on a line, empty and heartless, all feeling they decline

Without you in my heart, my rhymes are cold and dead, just jumbled up emotions, swimming in my head

You are the one who gives it purpose, you guide and shape my rhyme, then I put them out there, to stand the test of time

I try to fill the world with light, I spread desire mixed with lust, using the ingredients you've sent to me, simply with your trust

So my muse I thank you, my inspiration comes from you, I hope I have you always, I give my thanks to you

You pulled my lines out from the dark, now they bask in sun, you've opened up my poetry, to send to everyone
