How do you fix
A broken head?
Doctor says to
Fill it with meds
How do you mend
A fractured mind?
So friends don't feel
The need to be kind
How do you heal
A diseased brain?
Use a drink
To dull the pain?
How do you make
A crazy person sane?
I DON'T KNOW!!!

Neither do I. Sometimes meds work. Of course I am not a doctor nor a psychiatrist so I do not have the answers. I was in the métro (subway) today and there was this guy (maybe in his 30s) talked to himself the whole time..and still talking to himself as her left the train. Who knows. Maybe he functions well up to a point in his world.

I don’t think ‘crazy’ is an apt descriptor for a person who’s fractured psychologically.
I’m not a fan of prescription medication, albeit it’s necessary to manage a range of mental health conditions to curb and lessen the gravity of ones symptoms as an interim measure whilst treating & working through the actual root cause.
However, it’s important to understand the root cause of ones psychological profile; which entails identifying & working through their triggers of psychological distress.
Noting, that childhood trauma can also reframe the chemicals in our brain, and that requires intensive healing & shifts on a much deeper level through implementing a treatment plan that entails harnessing a range of different methodologies, which also spans to include working on our spiritual/ soul being too.
I think that’s the key for unravelling the psychological distress that many experience, oft as a result of some kind of unresolved trauma, and given the nature or trauma, it could be something secondary as unresolved grief & loss of a loved one, or it could be related to a significant trauma and/ or violation on the physical being.
Though, with neurodiverse individuals, it’s highly probable that a modified treatment plan will need to be considered, depending upon how the individuals profile stacks up from that perspective.
Sadly, the human condition can become a deeply complex experience, and our learnings will be different for each and everyone of us, depending upon the root cause, neurological & psychological profile etc.
And, it doesn’t help that society frowns upon our peers who suffer from such afflictions. It shouldn’t be a taboo subject, and more people need to create a safe space for our more vulnerable people to step forward when they need help.
Sadly, the ‘western ways’ and treatment methodologies are pharmaceutical based as if popping a pill is gonna solve the root cause of the symptoms an individual may be grappling with.
Self medicating is an additional burden, and not recommended. Though, lotsa people are experimenting with psychedelic treatment pathways via clinical trails.
Peace be unto you…🙏😇

It always seemed to me, from my conversations with people that take meds, that they complain about them because they kinda dull down everything. My guess has always been that kind of fog they experience is what normal people feel all the time, however after living on the edge all the time that fog is depressing. I wish there was a solution for that, but I've not heard of one.
You managed to describe that desperation to find a solution perfectly.
Awesome write.
