Sewed a Smile

She sewed a smile
With deceitful thread
Pricked her lips and wove it in
Bled as she began to grin
Tightening the ruby red
With a needle snaking beneath her skin
Tying a bloody double knot
Cut the string
Her smile stretches the aching seams
They might burst
When the smile stops
Ripping the stitches she unbearably fought
