Maybe you know more about me
than I know about myself

Despite our shortcomings
I still want you beside me
Despite the roads and turns

Night and day
In the sun and in the rain

I step up the pace

Trying to defend myself

Author's Note
I thought I would try this once just for the heck of it. And I know 'You have a way with me' is not the most popular but it was an easier one to read and shorter because this makes me nervous. Why is this so stressful. Anyway, in a momentary lapse of judgement I have decided to post this. If you have feedback please be honest, it's okay. Not planning to repeat this experiment.

I love your voice...beautiful❣❣ The poem is awesome. I like these phrases "Despite our shortcomings," and "Despite the drawbacks." That's the only way a relationship can survive. Too often we try to compel others to conform to our ideals when we should live and let live. I love a song by James Taylor called B.S.U.R.S.U.C.S.I.M.I.M. that so poetically describes what occurs when we strive to change the nature of others. Bravissima on this romantic piece and your courage to display your dulcet tomes.😘

Brava! You should be so proud of yourself for stepping outside your comfort zone and recording this. It’s awesome! Both poem and audio reading. Every time we do something we never thought we’d do it’s like getting an A on a report card for awesome achievement. Makes us stronger and more empowered for life’s challenges to come.
This phrase was the showstopper for me “Despite our shortcomings
I still want you beside me“.
Boom! To me, warts and all, I’d rather have my Prince Toad because he loves me no matter what during this bumpy ride called life. Delightful and BTW- you have a wonderful speaking voice! Strong and clear and pretty! Great job! H🌷

It so great that you posted this. The words you wrote we so much more meaningful when shared in your own voice. Don’t be afraid to do this again. I appreciate the courage it took to post it. As I listened and read, I thought how wonderful it would be to hear your voice read my pieces, which I don’t have the courage to even read aloud in privacy. Thanks for helping me start my day out right!

....this is such a beautiful vulnerable write. It truly resonates with me how powerless you can become to the conflict raged between with what the heart wants and the struggles of the mind (games) in our quest for love. It is heartwarming to hear you express those feelings of faith in your journey with the one has a way with you.....from your amazing written words accompanied by your video accentuated by your voice makes for a profound poem. Beautiful!

The heart can truly give us strength, make us weak at the knees, or tear us down with the mind in tow. To some degree we must have faith because it seems it will always be a turbulent journey but I suppose would total peace and the lack of pain truly result in heaven; or would it leave us in a complacent state never growing and feeling the full range of emotion. Oh my gosh, Kristina, this poem and your reading of it is beautiful beyond words! However difficult it was for you to read it, it came across vulnerable, pleasing and so very genuine. I absolutely loved hearing you read your poem. You have a very lovely voice and reading your work out loud just adds to the magic of your words. I commend you for your efforts and think you are a natural when it comes to reading your work. Who better to read one's own work than the author. If you are anything like me, you are your own worst critic. I am so hard on myself but I do always try to payt myself on the back when I have mustered up the courage to do something difficult and different! You accomplished what you set out to do and did it extremely well. Bravo! (And at least a dozen WOW's!)

I am definitely my own worst critic and truly feel like nothing is good enough. Actually this is another one that I had hidden, only making visible again yesterday feeling no one would ever come back to it. :) And this definitely took courage especially being the first audio that I posted. I am truly humbled by 'beautiful beyond words' and 'a dozen WOW's' and feel completely unworthy of such praise but I really appreciate it so much. You have made my day! 💖
