Million and One Haters
I've immerse myself in my work
never giving a thought to prejudice
hearing whispers in the background
talking crap about anything they can nitpick
sometimes it's about my heritage
many times it's gossip of my past
people soaking with preconceived notions
they see a person who's cloaked
and hate builds in their soul
not like I give a damn about that
what really bugs me is the cowardice
they say what they say
but never to my face
some of them want to fight me
I’m ready any time, any place
though I rather be a lover
wish to be left alone with my lover
her with good friends and family
gives me all the energy I need
don't mean to disappoint
wish I could make everyone happy
it’s just in my nature to keep a close circle
cus those haters aren't my heart
I’m not seeking understanding
I’ll always be at my best
even when no one’s watching
I have to stay prepared
because when my guard goes down
the vultures come out
though I've never been afraid to take a hit
as long as I stay true to my heart
I can take on a million and one haters

Sometimes my mind goes to why someone might not like me or say things about me without confronting me. I think this write was me accepting that I can't please everyone. That maybe my seclusion makes me a target at times. Though probably really it's just people can be jerks sometimes lol.
