I Stand By My Morals Even If I Stand Alone
Realizing I have a family
Who doen't share the same morals as I do
On the world right now
Hurts
I will always stand
For what I believe is right
Even if it means
Standing alone
But I have to admit
It's difficult
because this might ruin the relationships I have
With my family
I am not going to fight them
I know I can't change their minds
They see my age
And see an ignorant young person
But their failure to even listen to me
makes them the ignorant ones
Because at least I research my points
While they blindly shout opinions

It’s the courageous who stick to their guns (pardon the pun). Keeping a calm and understanding head is truly admirable. It’s very sad if this alienates you from your family and I’m very sorry for that. I will hope that it doesn’t. I’d like to think blood is thicker than politics. Your piece is very on trend and relatable I think, for many of us and I appreciate the clear and truthful manner in which you wrote it. H🌷

If those too quick to criticize the young could see these verses:
