Night Sky

Night sky, black as a panther
Salted with stars
Moon high, haloed in light
Reflected by an unseen sun
That shines far away
In someone else's sky,
In someone else's day
I wonder about these foriegn people
Who are they
What are they doing
If they look up at their night sky
If they ever think of me
A foriegner to them
My land far away borrowing their sun
These things I wonder
As I look at the sky's dark velet
With stars like spilled sugar
The mysterious lunar light
Angel face moon
That makes one consider
Who is out there
Beyond what we know
Living lives we know nothing about
And we, living on this side
Of earth
Living our lives
Not understanding very much
With only bits and pieces
Trying desparately to figure it all out
Standing alone
Out in the yard
Staring up at the night sky
Looking for answers
As we struggle in this game
We call living
