UNCIVIL CIVILISATION

A long lonely silence
Followed the screaming
Now there was nothing
But the mechanical noise
Of automated technology
Which occasionally hissed
At its creator
Mankind had advanced itself
Or so it thought
Governments throughout the world
Had united (partly) in protecting the worlds future
Cancer and Aids had been cured
Starvation was no longer endured
The environment was widely adored
The worlds future now seemed secured
Yet despite his ingenuity
He destroyed himself
Oh so obstinate mankind
Had still not learnt
That to fight, instead of to compromise
Was to lead to death and suffering
To fight with modern technological weapons
Was to lead to extinction
Not wanting to damage
A myriad of magnificent architecture
Chemicals were used
Accompanied by Neutron bombs
Deadly gasses that had no voice
Mankinds trophy cabinet
Now included itself.
