We Played Our Hands

I split her deck and drew my cards
Our eyes locked and her message was clear
They begged for eternal bliss; I had only momentary passion
They pleaded to be fully loved; what I felt was strong, yet shallow

Her eyes urged me on, and I complied, dealing my cards again and again
Pressing into her perfect flesh
I wanted to fulfill those hungry eyes, though imperfectly
I dared not show my cards

I knew my efforts were futile, but god, how good the work felt!
She sought eternal love; to me, she was perfect in this moment
She wanted long term but played her weak hand into my straight flush
Sweet agony of unmet expectations, both hers and mine

Our new cards shuffled, barely acquainted; now blushing with pleasure
Bound in one deck in our common game of ecstasy

I said, “It’s here” and dealt my cards across our table of loneliness
She said, “Come!” as muscled legs rose higher to pull me farther into her slender trunk
I raised my bet, holding my winning hand close to her chest
Repeated rushes of wind shivered through my center and entered her precious grasp

She whispered, “I love you,” to which I sighed in pleasure, “Yes.”
Her earnest eyes said forever; my hand was revealed in silence, saying only,
“You were a wonderful fuck.”
