Threnody
I'd sit with you for
an eternity or two,
and hold your hand.
I'd hear you talk,
laugh when appropriate.
I'd shed an ocean
or two because you left
and I stayed.

I was waiting

At the end you have laid another of your "little/great" gems.
I'm sorry that it is an epitaph for someone who you loved, though.
...I'd shed an ocean...
I find this is a very suggestive verse.
It has multiple readings. Like: shed an ocean of tears, or to avoid being swallowed by the ocean.
(From dictionary: "Have the property of preventing –something– to be absorbed")

A powerful punch...

...again, with so few words. I love how you can get all of that emotion in without saying a lot. Great job.

Incredibly powerful, Opheliac. With the imagery of eternities and oceans, it's jarring and quite beautiful to see significance within our (sometimes) insignificant worlds.
Thanks for the read!
