tempest
I wept and you saw the storm of me
inside the tempest, you rode
my distance thundered
my sadness flash
you captured me there
within my sorrow
within the madness
I was beautiful in my broken time
the winds could howl
you weren't going anywhere
I saw you then
as for the first time
a man of worth who cared
big soulful eyes drank me in
I saw myself there in your gaze
a well of feeling washed over me
as a forlorn lady of pain transformed
in your arms sanctuary
within your understanding
I glow
