PANDEMIC STRUGGLES
Our lives as we know, is no more...
Full of uncertainties...
Our lives as we know,
Disrupted without warning...
Our lives as we know,
Put to a standstill...
A pandemic has turned our lives upside down,
As if we were not already facing challenges,
As if we were not already in a fight for our very lives...
Is this what they mean?
When they say life is unpredictable,
When they say life is full of surprises...
Ooh but what a surprise this is...
The world was never prepared,
Our lives are at a standstill...
We have taken cover in our homes,
Slowing down the spread of a deadly virus,
Yet we hadn’t already dealt with the silent pandemics we face on daily...
We could lose the very jobs we fight for on a daily...
We sit in our homes not comfortably but full of worry and uncertainties,
Where is the next meal coming from?
Our lives were already in shambles,
How do we quarantine with empty stomachs only filled with anxiousness...
Stress levels are sky high as the poverty battle just went to level 5 without warning...
Do we silently die in our homes as we obey the rules to try keep the world alive?!

Yes, it has... And though things are opening back up here in the US, this pandemic is far from over, unfortunately. The uncertainty during these times can be quite unsettling. Well said, Aleck, this thing is affecting us all in one way or another. Nice, relatable writing!

As a fellow compatriot this really does hit home
These days there is this question that keeps coming into mind
Where are we going as a country?
You've already mentioned the unemployment which sits at more than 7 million maybe even 10 million people
Nobody knows for sure
There is a predictability to how the country runs its affairs
Tough decisions need to be taken
Unpopular actions that look beyond the now but into the future
The Biggest Enemy
The Corruption Project
If steps are not taken to close this leaking tap
There will be no end to this kleptocracy
