I am fading into the silence
one lost word at a time...

forlorn in the solemn stare
the void glares at me
I retreat down the grey corridor
where I say nothing

days of pain I fear them
they teach me nothing more--
then how to plead

the torment too much
swallowed by its greed
it eats my metaphors
and bleeds my thoughts

I fall in and drown
deep into the nothing
and get lost there
words my salvation
my pride too great
to cry out

I can't find it in me to utter
please help me I'm vanishing
down to that dark place
where you can't touch me
