Bathtub
You’ve been breaking down in the bathtub, hoping someone will save you.
You start to think that they might, but no one has time to.
And it seems like they care but you’re not sure,
cause no one seems to notice that you’re almost done for.
By now you’ve learned to cry without making a sound,
and you’ve learned to smile when you’re about to drown.
But when you need to survive, you can’t figure out how.
You’re supposed to be okay but you feel like giving up.
Soon you’ll break down again and go back to the bathtub.
You close the curtain as you climb in,
cause you can’t let anyone see you like this.
You sweep the pieces of your heart into a pile,
but secretly hope they see through your fake smile.
Tears run down your face as you hyperventilate,
It’s the third fucking breakdown that you’ve had today.
“Either help me or kill me, cause I’m not okay.”
