Flaws
Thoughts rotting away
Decay my outer shell
Darkness seeps through
Far from hope
Mind cracking
Conversations with shadows
Shackled to madness
Eyes unfocused
Not knowing
Where home is
Voices scream
In the ruins of my soul
Insanity spreading like confetti
Urgently blowing in the breeze
Obvious flaws slowly exposed

It's so easy for us to be hard on ourselves, and what we see as our apparent flaws. (we all have them and we usually see ourselves as being way more flawed than what everyone else does) ) I know I'm definitely my own worst enemy. An extremely challenging (to put it mildly) childhood made that a foregone inevitable conclusion.... So I relate to this piece, deeply. I just try to remember my positives and tell myself that I'll continue to work on my 'flaws', allowing growth and hopefully becoming more sympathetic... to me. Cutting myself some emotional slack, is what I've learned and what helps me to reconcile.
