The Rain of Pain
Sitting in the dark,
I feel no living spark,
Well after midnight's bell has rung,
After love's last song has been sung,
Alone in this void black as pitch,
Thoughts race in my mind a mental snitch,
The rain is building behind the wall,
Welling up preparing to fall,
Looking down from way up high,
I wonder if I can fly,
Spread my arms like wings,
Ready to jump straight off with a spring,
The air feels rushed,
My breath is crushed,
Why did I try,
Now I can only die,
From this there is no going back,
All the pain still fresh and sharp as a tack,
The clouds dark and gray,
Just like my every day,
Maybe I should just quit,
I know about me she'll soon forget,
Now has come my day of dread,
All the life gone, I feel like I'm dead,
Would she notice if I was gone,
Probably not, she's surely already moved on,
Soaking wet from the rain of pain,
I knew it would fall on me again,
I'm going back to my place in the despairing dark,
To wait for death in life's desolate and loveless park!
I feel no living spark,
Well after midnight's bell has rung,
After love's last song has been sung,
Alone in this void black as pitch,
Thoughts race in my mind a mental snitch,
The rain is building behind the wall,
Welling up preparing to fall,
Looking down from way up high,
I wonder if I can fly,
Spread my arms like wings,
Ready to jump straight off with a spring,
The air feels rushed,
My breath is crushed,
Why did I try,
Now I can only die,
From this there is no going back,
All the pain still fresh and sharp as a tack,
The clouds dark and gray,
Just like my every day,
Maybe I should just quit,
I know about me she'll soon forget,
Now has come my day of dread,
All the life gone, I feel like I'm dead,
Would she notice if I was gone,
Probably not, she's surely already moved on,
Soaking wet from the rain of pain,
I knew it would fall on me again,
I'm going back to my place in the despairing dark,
To wait for death in life's desolate and loveless park!
