Advice To a Lost Friend

The light one sees when looking at God
is nothing but the skin of a human.
The real God is beyond your reach until you open your windows.
If you look at me and see a man covered in dirt and grime
with tattered clothes and smelling of a foul stench,
you still know nothing of who I am.
It may be I am a homeless person who has no money for new clothes
or to even wash the ones on my back, or
it may be that I am a hard working man that just came from a particularly nasty job.

So what good is it to see God with your eyes?

You cannot see beyond the light to the essence of the one within.
And even if you could look past the light,
your physical body has no method of understanding what your eyes would behold.

Before you meet God, you must shead your own superficial covering
so your soul can return to where it began.

This is why you must not know God while in the physical form.
Believing while alive is all he will allow
because knowledge is the antithesis of belief.
Believing is the open doorway to faith.
Know yourself so when the time comes to know God, you will have no skeletons in your closet to cast a shadow on your soul
and block his light from shining on the real you.

The best advice I will offer you is
Don't beat dead horses!
It is a waste of time to repeat my mistakes...
