Smiles (NaPo #20/30)
Happy little children, playing in the park,
Makes me happy as a lark.
Holding onto their balloons, and swinging on the swings,
Brings to me, such joyful feelings.
Hearing their giggles and whispers, that go on and on for miles,
Seeing their bright, smiles,
Seeing their wide eyes,
Brings tears of joy to my eyes.
Happy little children, playing in the park,
Behind the trees, after dark.
Holding onto their rusty neck shackles, allowed occasionally on the swings,
Brings to me, such joyful feelings.
Hearing their cries and screams, that go on and on for miles,
Seeing their bright, red, stitched, smiles,
Seeing their white, glassy, eyes,
Brings tears of joy to my eyes.
