Image for the poem Funny thing, a window-

Funny thing, a window-

Funny thing, a window-

The gate between thought
   and feeling;
To see a life that could
     be lived-
Wandering, unaware of its
     being.

To be on the outside
     dwelling in,
Is no less than an honest
     sin.

I fear the cold,
I fear the rain;
But most of all,
I fear to never know pain.

Author's Note
I find windows utterly fascinating. It is unnatural to witness a world of sun and stars, rain and wind, people and emotions, heartbreak, happiness, and yet not experience those moments yourself.
