ACTIVITY
Dolphins by night,
glowing off reflected light,
that falls into the distance
across the blue-black ocean.
We sit upon
the swirling edge
of the South Pacific,
watching the flicker
of green, red lights
on the breakwalls.
The tide's flowing,
forward and back,
in and out,
indecisive.
Sucked down,
around and in
between crevices
and rocks.
Splashing, crashing
waves on sand,
water lapping at our feet.
Was that a shooting star,
or just a moth
flying through the light ?
