Grace's Nonsense Verses
Believe me he says
As he slaps the bees away
I am serious
I am here to stay
I stare at his monocle
The blind mole
I love you he says
And tries to embrace me
The mousedeer looks mildly affronted
When he touches its ears
And tries to kiss its nose
Go away it hisses
June showers and winter snow
Travels the couple, they who show
The trails of snails
on billowing sails
To a faraway land
Where Shangri-la stands
Towering bright upon the sand
As he slaps the bees away
I am serious
I am here to stay
I stare at his monocle
The blind mole
I love you he says
And tries to embrace me
The mousedeer looks mildly affronted
When he touches its ears
And tries to kiss its nose
Go away it hisses
June showers and winter snow
Travels the couple, they who show
The trails of snails
on billowing sails
To a faraway land
Where Shangri-la stands
Towering bright upon the sand
