My Last Note to You (new version)
For Stacy-Ann
An extraordinary love once bloomed as a flower in morning dew,
But the warmth and vigour of this rare love has finally faded.
The avidness is gone, and dullness has replaced the eagerness.
A forbidden but thrilling love affair is now dead and lost forever.
The bachelorette, who couldn’t avoid touching me, now spurns me.
The heart that used to yearn for love no longer desires my passion,
And the lips that were as tender as infancy have become bitter.
The most beautiful romance has turned into an ugly abhorrence.
My last note to you, Stacy-Ann, is to say I’m truly sorry, my dear.
You’re still my sunshine, my sweetheart, and my only treasure.
Our love began with a glow of happiness and high expectations,
But for some reason or other it has left us so empty-hearted.
We shared an intimate bond that surpassed close friendship.
Sadly, we stay apart, and now we’re worse than strangers.
I can’t imagine how such a good thing could end so badly.
We enjoyed love while it lasted, but it’s all over now, goodbye.
