Avataria
Why not show my genuine human face?
Do I fear exposure or, much worse, emasculation?
That one perhaps a name to visage place?
No, it’s so appearance won’t impede imagination

Dear GH,
Thoughtful notion. Using one’s imagination is a wonderful exercise. I love the images created in my head when reading someone’s work. There’s a greater sense of ownership and involvement for me when some mystery is put into the mix and I have to create the scene. What was that line from The Wizard of Oz? “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain”
Great write! H🌷

I love your comment❣️ thank you so much 🙏 Could you imagine an existence with out imagination...well I guess we couldn't, right? 😁 I am pleased by your idea of reader ownership. Great Oz quote as well. I don't look quite like the wizard, yet 😋 🌷💜

I dig this and can understand it but knowing what Stephen King or Shel Silverstein looks like never made me not want to read their books. I like to imagine the story or poem not the author. ❤

Bull's-eye GW ... that is why I went that way ... it's not suppose to be about me ... but rather my poetry ...

I remember your first pic, it is beautiful. I agree with your decision, in some odd way, I think it makes our poetry more universally accessible, or not 😁💕🌷

Thank you kind sir! You have a certain Zen quality about you that makes me extra grateful when you comment. 🙏
As you commented, I am a feeling poet that, perhaps, feels a little too deeply at times 🙄

I feel the element of mystery is of high importance to the poetic persona. Looks are of little consequence. Excellent work, Gahdess.

It is a very good point presented in a very effective way with your great writing. Possibly I should change my avatar to something that leaves more to the imagination... food for thought.

I don't know the mask lends an air of mystery to your appearance. I appreciate your comment I had forgotten about this poem and I am glad to have a chance to revisit it's words. I am also glad that you understand my message as well.❣❣😘
