Growing Up

Growing up is tough,
A never ending journey, down a path that's rough,
No matter how much I change, or stay the same,
I know this will always be the same,
This will always be true,
I love you through and through,
No matter where you go, or what you do.

I am no warrior, nor am I a mage,
I am no wise hermit, enlightened with great age,
No royal king, making laws, nor disciplined monk,
No martyr, nor a criminal, cyberpunk,
Not a theving, persuasive, rouge, nor almighty god,
I am but a humble man, step-by-step I trod.

Searching this earth, for knowledge, and honesty,
Trying to understand life, and doing the best I can
To keep it as steady as I can,
For every year, this world seems to spin faster,
With this crime, that corrupt law, and this disaster.

I now appreciate the free time I used to have,
I look to my Popsocket with our photograph,
It makes me smile,
For you, I'd walk Earth's surface area, every mile,

I'll go the extra mile, to help everyone I know I can
To gather the best Karma I can
So that one day, as I search, I may meet you again.

Someday, I will be free,
To be the man I wish to be,

The luckiest man in the world, by your side.
