Manic monkeys (revised)
"if I had been God"
I would've redesigned the human race
in every way,
would've made us more prone to peace
and less likely
to level lovely landscapes.
"if I had been God"
I would've shifted many senses
and I would not have secluded this species to suffer.
"if I had been God"
myself
I would've outlawed,
if I had been given the chance
I do believe
I would've ended evolution early,
not allowing us to advance.
The forests are all on fire,
the oceans are overflowing,
the creatures are in caskets
and the beauty we don't behold
the Earth quakes and crumbles
beneath the constant construction,
we claim to care
as we advertise destruction
and "it feels like deja Vu"
the world's still rocking round
but we don't know what to do
while we dream of love
or an answer from up above..
We're manic monkeys
making a such a mess,
a hint of madness in our eyes,
paranoia paralyzing the psyche
as we drown in
delusions and lies..
"Wake up wake up
and smell the roses"
Open your mind
and see this massive mess,
we're nothing but pests
especially here in the west,
nothing but fiends
just stuck in machines,
nothing but souls
spinning out of control,
wake up the others we're all lovers..
This is a world where they
weed out the weaklings,
this is where they
reward the warmongers.
Here's where they're quick to
cling to power and greed
and forget all about those truly in need..
Wake up
Wake up
and smell the burning shitshow.
This is the realm where relaxation revolts us,
don't rest don't play
the tyrants shout as
they're carried away.
We must believe and see
there's no restraints
no constraints
on our power as a species
spinning on this sphere in space..
Wake up
Wake up and sense the separation,
see all the silent shooters
sniping spirits,
This is a world which
we've created..
another species almost all out of luck
mostly cause we didn't give a fuck.
"Wake up wake up and smell the roses"
Take a last look at this lost land
before she's gone along with us..
Maybe we don't care to understand.
