Humiliation

In the Shadows of Humiliation children crouch.

They fidget and shake. They shrink to nothingness.
The villain thinks he grows. But he falls as well,
In a shadow of his own creation.

The children's strength leaves them,
Joining the shadow shrouding the man.

Naked and exposed, they watch as the shadow he built crushes him.
Pressing in on him until all he knows is himself and his false power.
It grows and pulses, lingering devotion still attached
To the whispers of humans from which it was born.

The children take all they can, until it becomes too much.
They pull themselves up, leaning and relying of the threads of shadow.
They yank and tug, fury boiling up, clothing themselves
in the hate and contempt substantiated is the gloom.

The shadow dissolves, flying back to the youth from which it was taken.
With it, comes darkness and resentment. Anger and rage.
The man is now left alone and bare, burning in the light.

Children rise, changed. Children no longer
All are less than they were before.

Darkness fills each one, and they go out into he world,
Becoming villains themselves.
And so the cycle goes...
With more victims each times.

Humiliation breeds Darkness
                   and
Darkness breeds Evil
