And 150 years ago technology was (and ever since has been and still is) promised to deliver a life of increased leisure time for all and less sweated labour. Huh? Now it's nano- and gene-technology which we are told will finally usher in the age of comfort ... if only we will sacrifice that bit more for that bit longer it will all come finally to glorious fruition (I don't think so). {I'm currently reading Charles Eisenstein's "The Ascent of Humanity"} :))

I remember writing it when it was dark and cold earlier in the year when I wasn't furloughed.
