Carpet thoughts
We shared my past but now I’m old,
my nose is wet, my feet so cold.
I can’t get up too well my friend
I feel the pain, I sense the end.
I love your scent and when you’re near
I can feel safe without a fear.
Although my eyes don’t see too well
I know you’re there just by your smell.
Please comb my hair, it is alright
I do feel safe right by your side
I trust your hands they mean no harm
I know their touch, I love their warmth.
So please come close, I don’t have long.
Please hold me tight cause when I’m gone
I know you’ll cry, shed tears for me
But just you know, I will be free.
